Pastor Jeremy Smith has served in ministry for over three decades. His journey in ministry
began as a youth pastor, where he faithfully served for ten years, passionately guiding
teenagers with biblical truth and relational care. It was during this season of youth ministry that
Jeremy met his future bride, Laura, who became his faithful partner in life and ministry. Together
they have built a Christ-centered life devoted to serving God and others.
Following his time in youth ministry, Jeremy went on to serve as Children’s Ministry director for
15 years, as well as the Section 7 Children’s Ministry Director in Indiana for 13 years. His heart
for nurturing faith in the youngest members of the church was evident through creative teaching,
engaging programs, and a loving, Spirit-led approach. His influence helped lay strong spiritual
foundations in the lives of many children and families.
On November 12, 2017, Jeremy accepted the call to serve as Pastor of Living Word in Aurora,
Indiana, where he continues to serve to this day—alongside his loving and faithful wife, Laura.
Their partnership in leadership reflects a shared heart for ministry and a deep commitment to
shepherding the church with compassion, humility, and vision.
Pastor Smith and Laura have been blessed with two daughters, Chloe and Addie, who are both
married to godly men, Cody and Bennett. They are also the proud grandparents of three
wonderful grandchildren–Prewitt, Merritt and Brockitt–who bring joy and inspiration to their lives.
Both daughters and sons-in-law are actively serving the Lord in various ministries, continuing
the legacy of faith, service, and leadership. Their children’s involvement in ministry is a source
of great joy to Pastor Smith and Laura.
Since stepping into the pastoral role at Living Word, Pastor Smith has led the church with clarity,
conviction, and care. Under his leadership, the church has experienced significant spiritual
growth and has seen a tremendous increase in new members, growing at a rapid pace. The
congregation has embraced a renewed passion for worship and discipleship creating a thriving,
Spirit-led community that is making a lasting impact in Dearborn County and beyond.
